Bully Free TV is an anti-bullying program where kids put together their own newscast covering positive stories. Students anchor news, weather an traffic - just like on TV - and even host entertainment segments and act in the "commercial breaks". They learn on-camera performance skills including teleprompter, ad-libbing, interviewing, and writing for television. All the news and content in a Bully Free TV newscast is positive, and covers anti-bullying information and topics. It's positive stories, and the kids are reporting!
The program was created by 23-year television veteran Jonathan Novack. Jonathan is an on-air meteorologist for FOX 11 in Los Angeles. He's previously worked for ABC, Tennis Channel, and local news stations across the country. He faced bullying through his childhood, and is excited to be able to help kids who are in similar situations.
