The Program

The Bully Free TV mission is to provide a fun environment in which students can learn how to confidently and effectively perform on-camera in a newscast setting while covering positive stories and learning how to recognize and properly respond to bullying.

Bully Free TV accomplishes three goals:

1.) Public speaking is one of the most common fears people have. The "Bully Free TV" curriculum is based on bringing out the confidence that resides within every student. By getting up in front of a camera and performing effectively, students gain a new level of confidence that they can take with them in every area of their lives. Moreover by working together and learning positive stories about other students, they solidify their self-worth, and see the good in others.

2.) Students learn bullying information and statistics, how to talk about it, handle it in their own lives, and what to do when they see it happening to others. With this knowledge they will feel further empowered and secure.

3.) The on-camera skills they learn can serve as a foundation for students who are interested in pursuing a career in TV and journalism. But these skills (including interviewing, ad-libbing, writing and story-telling) will carry over to all aspects of their personal and future professional lives.
